The prices shown are AT&T’s lowest advertised new customer rates, which require three things stacked together: AT&T’s current national promotion ($5/mo off 500 Mbps, $10/mo off 1 Gig, and $15/mo off 5 Gig for 12 months), a $10/mo AutoPay & paperless billing discount, and an active AT&T Wireless plan bundled onto the same account. Without the wireless line, you’re looking at the standalone price instead, which runs $15–25/mo higher depending on your speed tier. Here’s what else to know:
The internet-wireless bundle discount starts within 3 bills. Until then, you’ll have to pay the full cost for the fiber plan ($50–110/mo range) and your subscribed AT&T unlimited voice & data plan ($30–75/mo range). Services are billed separately, and residents of select multi-dwelling units are not eligible for this discount.
AutoPay discount only reaches $10 if it’s linked to a bank account or the AT&T Points Plus® Card. Pay with a debit card instead, and it drops to $5/mo; with any other credit card, there’s no discount at all.
A one-time installation fee of up to $99 may apply, and if you live in Nevada, Ohio, or Texas, a Monthly State Cost Recovery Charge applies on top of standard taxes.

Fiber installation is a little different from plugging in a new router. The technician may need to work both inside and outside your home, so I always recommend clearing the access path and pointing out anything underground, especially sprinkler lines or invisible fencing. That small bit of preparation can make installation day much more predictable.
If the technician discovers an issue with the underground fiber route, ask whether it needs a separate construction visit. Before they leave, make sure you know who is handling the next step, what happens to your installation order, and when you should expect an update.” —
